Proto:87 Wheel Form Tool

I received this tool from Andy at the Proto:87 stores in late September 2003.  The tool is used in a lathe (such as a Sherline) for turning wheels down to proto:87 profiles, or creating new wheels to that profile.  I have not yet had a chance to try it out, but here are some photos of the double-ended 1/4" lathe tool.

Here is the full tool.  You can just see that the end on the top-right is also formed to the Proto:87 profile.

Here is a closeup of one of the two cutting edges.  You can clearly see the perfect Proto:87 wheel profile.  I wouldn't even know how to begin cutting something so small and critical in HSS like this.
