Western Maryland Hagerstown Station

This section includes photos I have taken of the Western Maryland Station in Hagerstown, Maryland

On August 9, 2003, I had the opportunity to photograph this former WM station in Hagerstown, Maryland.  The station is currently occupied by the Hagerstown Department of Police.  Here is some information from their site :

In the year 1912 the Western Maryland Railway, erected the building at the intersection of N. Burhans Blvd. & W. Washington St. That intersection was formally W. Washington St. & Foundry St.  The building was used as a passenger station by the Western Maryland Railway for many years.  During the last few years of the station and after the train stopped bringing passengers to Hagerstown at this station, the railway used the building as administrative offices. The City of Hagerstown bought the building and began renovation in 1978, it was soon to be the new Hagerstown Police Department.  In January 1979, the Police Department was moved from the fourth floor of City Hall to the new building, where it remains today. Most of the original structure is the same, only minor changes have been made to the outside of the building.
