Prototype Locomotive Manufacturer GE
Model Manufacturer Bachmann Industries
Model Run Undecorated. Second Run. DCC Ready.
Scale HO
Date Acquired August 2002 from MB Klein in Baltimore

The Bachmann GE 44 Ton Switcher is a servicable little model.  It's a bit on the noisy side, and the detail is, well, rough (raised panel lines, hand rails that attach through doors, fore and aft windows far too small, overscale "chunky" detail, etc), but not too bad from a distance. :-)

For reference, here's a link to a picture of the real thing.  Western Maryland Railway had two 44 ton switchers, numbered 75 and 76.  I am modeling number 76.  The main differences between 75 and 76 are the location of the fireball, and the configuration of the front and back grabs.

Here is the Bachmann model before any work was done.

More photos coming as the model progresses!
