WM #62 F7A from Highliners Kit - Side Doors

Install Side Doors

Take a look at the two photos below.  The first photo is the "before" shot, the second the "after" shot.  Pay particular attention to the drip molding above and below the door.  This is where the Micro-Mark chisel comes into play.  This model of FA has the drip molding directly above the door, as opposed to a continuous strip from the front.  Carefully clean this off with the chisel, then do the same with the molding below the door.  Be careful not to take out any of the rivet detail.  In the photo below, you can see I didn't do a very careful job on the bottom.  The other side looks better :-)

Once you remove the molding, dry-fit the doors.  The doors are double-sided to allow for different prototypes.  Be sure to check your photos.  Also pay particular attention to ensure that the door handles are oriented towards the front.

Cement the doors in place from the inside with the plastruct cement.  If you're really into it, you might try using some putty, or thick CA on a pin, or thin styrene to fill in the bottom corners, as the fillets are supposed to be part of the structure, not the door.
