described in a bit more detail than what you'll find in the Kalmbach magazine
index. Western Maryland Railway Historical Society (WMRHS) BMX issues are not

Autor describes the decline of steam power of engines built after 1937. Small mention of WM; "the decline of perfection, if that is the term, was clearly evident in 1940. Western Maryland and Delaware & Hudson 4-6-6-4's were abnormally heavy for their power, and their grates were unusually small (119 and 108 square feet respectively.)
